La pandemia originada por el virus SARS-CoV-2 causante de la COVID-19 nos ha enfrentado a una etapa marcada por la incertidumbre y por los retos. Como era de esperar las instituciones de salud inician un periodo de adaptación constante para mantener la seguridad tanto de pacientes como de trabajadores y con el objetivo primordial de evitar la transmisión de las infecciones relacionadas con la asistencia sanitaria.
Fruto de mi experiencia durante esta «nueva era COVID-19» nace este libro a través del cual quiero dar a conocer los circuitos que se han adaptado y desplegado en un hospital de 340 camas que presta asistencia sanitaria a pacientes con patologías agudas o agudizadas. Para los trabajadores de la salud, este libro ofrece la oportunidad de comprender los nuevos modelos de gestión de los circuitos asistenciales que se han ajustado al contexto actual. Y, para los pacientes es la ocasión de entender cómo los centros sanitarios diseñan estrategias en pro de mantenerlos seguros.
